AUTHOR
I am amazed to realise that I have now published over 50 books for children. These titles range from picture books to historical fiction; including action-adventure, funny chapter books, classics re-visited, animal stories, educational works and TV episodes. As a dyslexic writer who came late to reading myself, imagination, accessibility and (often) a good splash of humour are at the heart of everything I do.
I am represented by Millie van Grutten at Rogers, Coleridge & White.

EVENTS
School visits & Author events
With a background in drama as well as lecturing in Theatre/English Lit, I love visiting schools and/or talking to children at events and festivals.
My fun, feisty, interactive sessions are designed to excite children about reading and rev up their writing. I involve the audience right from the start, get them using their imaginations and set mini challenges to explore key writing skills along the way.
I am always happy to talk about my own dyslexic journey from struggling reader to published author.
With titles from picture books via funny chapter books to historical middle grade fiction, I have something for every class from early years to the top of KS2 and beyond.
To arrange a visit please contact Authors Aloud info@authorsalouduk.co.uk being sure to put Lou Kuenzler in the header of your email.

BIO
I grew up on a remote sheep farm in Devon. Being dyslexic made schoolwork, reading and writing tough - but never dulled my love of story. I am proud to be neurodivergent and always happy to celebrate difference and imagination.
I went on to work in theatre and lecture at universities before becoming a full-time author and creative writing tutor.
I nearly always feature animals somewhere in my stories.
I have always loved them, as you can see from this photo of me when I was very small!
I now live with my family, a pampered dog and a fluffy cat in London, where I am lucky enough to sit and make things up at a big red desk.
